Cure for Psoriasis

What is Psoriasis? Psoriasis is a chronic, non- contagious auto-immune disease that affects the skin and joints.  An autoimmune disease is an over active immune response of the body, against substances and tissues normally present within the body. In simple words, it means that the body attacks its own cells. It causes red scaly patches to appear on the skin. Psoriasis affects both the sexes and generally appears in the age between 15 and 30 years.

What causes psoriasis? Though the causes are not fully understood, it may happen due to heredity factors or an abnormality in the metabolism of amino acids and proteins, seasonal changes, or due to injuries to the skin, or various other infections. Psoriasis occurs more often on dry skin than in oily or well moisturized skin. It can be set off by an infection after an external skin injury, which leads to inflammation and causes itching and rapid skin turn over. The infecting organism may absorb all the moisture, thereby aggravating the problem.

What is the cure for psoriasis? A natural cure for Psoriasis is the most effective of treatments available. You may try an Epsom salt bath, which is a significant treatment for psoriasis. Applying olive oil to your skin after an Epsom salt bath is an effective natural treatment. Sea water baths or applying sea water on affected areas will also bring relief. Mud baths are also good natural cures for Psoriasis, as they remove toxins from the skin. Sunlight is the best cure for Psoriasis. You can use cabbage leaves as compresses after washing them thoroughly and removing the thicker parts. Oregano, a commonly used spice, has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Its oil helps in reducing psoriasis. There are many other natural Psoriasis cures. Using turmeric, either in cooking, or applying turmeric based creams is an excellent natural cure for Psoriasis.

Do I need to follow a particular diet? Most definitely! Some of the food products will increase inflammation of skin. To cleanse your body of toxins drink juices of carrots, beets, cucumber, and grapes. Avoid citrus fruits or juices. You may also eat nuts, vegetables, and fruits. Try eating the raw seeds of sesame, sunflower, and pumpkin. You may also take organically grown food along with fresh fruits like grapes, pears, peaches, pineapples, and a handful of raw nuts. A bowl of green vegetable salad and sprouts are a natural cure for Psoriasis. Try soaking 25 raisins overnight in a copper vessel filled with water and drink it in the morning with the raisins.

Once you find changes for the better in your body, you may consume yogurt, goat milk and cottage cheese.  Try to avoid all animal fats.
