How to do a facial at home?


A facial is an effective way of cleaning, nourishing and exfoliating your skin all at once. The facial helps in the intensive or deep cleaning of the skin on the face and a facial done regularly helps prevent a number of skin problems, blemishes, wrinkles and other forms of mild skin damage. Thus a facial not only cleans your face well but provides moisture deep inside the skin. It improves blood circulation and opens the skin pores allowing the skin to breathe. This, in effect, increases cell regeneration and keeps your skin looking healthy and beautiful. Given below are a few face packs that you can use for a facial at home. These are easy to prepare and will not require much effort.

  • Oatmeal and water:  Make a paste of out of these two ingredients, apply it to your face and allow it to dry. Once dried wipe it off with a warm damp cloth.
  • Banana and sour cream: Take half a banana and mash it. Add two spoons of sour cream and a spoon of honey to the mashed banana and then apply the whole thing to your face. Leave the pack on for a period of ten minutes and then wash your face off with lukewarm water.
  • Cornmeal: Two spoons of cornmeal should be mixed with a proportionate amount of water and made into a thick paste. The pack should then be applied to the face and washed off after a couple of minutes.
  • Cucumber and yoghurt: Take a spoon of yoghurt and about half a cucumber. Put the two in a blender and add a few strawberries and one spoon of honey. Use the mask on your face for about fifteen to twenty minutes and then wipe it off using a cool damp cloth.
  • Almond and honey: Fine grind a spoon of almonds in a blender or mixer and then mix the powder with a spoon of honey and the white off an egg. Once ready apply it to your entire face and leave it on for about fifteen minutes and then wash the pack off using slightly warm water.
  • Avocado: Cut an avocado in half and then mash it completely into a pulp. Apply the pulp to your face and let it lay there for about twenty minutes after you should rinse the pulp off with warm water. For effective results use these face packs at least once a week. Since all the ingredients are natural there are very few chances of side effects.
