Treatment for Brown Spots on Skin

Brown spots can be cause due to several reasons. They may be a result of hyper pigmentation or excessive sun tan. Brown spots are also sometimes caused due to age, especially in people who are over 50 years old. They can also be a result of acne marks left behind long after the acne and pimples have gone away. In really rare cases, brown marks are the first harbinger of skin cancer. This particular kind of marks, however, grow to become moles or other eruptions in due course. Since you have specified anything about yourself, your brown marks could be caused due to any or all of the reasons mentioned above.

The first thing you would need to do is to get your marks examined by a doctor to eliminate any dire possibilities like the beginnings of skin cancer. A dermatologist will be able to tell you at a superficial level what exactly your marks are. If required, you can also be referred to other doctors or testing laboratories for further tests and examinations. If your marks are caused due to reasons such as age or suntans, then there are a few simple remedies you can apply at home to get rid of them. If you are suffering from sun tan related spots, then you should apply yogurt on them. This will fade them away gradually and permanently. You can also mix a few drops of lime juice to the yogurt. Lime juice has natural bleaching properties which will help to lighten the spots considerably. You can also apply diluted apple cider vinegar to your spots. This will also work well. You can use a proportion of one part vinegar to 10 parts of water. This should work effectively enough.

If you are suffering from age spots, which are also known as liver spots, you can use castor oil to get rid of them. Rubbing castor oil on these spots can fade them away gradually. Do remember that this may not always work. Lightening or removing your age spots would depend completely upon how long they have been around. If your spots have been around for a few years, then chances are that you may not be able to get rid of them altogether and you should be ready for this as well. Onion juice is also a very effective remover of age spots. All you would have to do is dab it on them about three to four times a day.
