Beauty Tips for Teens

Adolescence is a time when the need to belong and be accepted is the most important. In our effort to avoid alienation, we strive to better ourselves and make ourselves more desirable based on the way we look. Hormones play a significant role, resulting in pimples and acne.  Also, the skin tone is either oily or dry, and with our bodies undergoing several changes, it seems as if almost everything needs to be perfected. While no one is perfect, there are ways to ensure that you are always looking healthy and beautiful. There are several products in the market that target teens, promising beauty and acceptance. However, there are many natural remedies that can be availed off. Below are some of the common beauty tips for teens.

For acne, mix oatmeal or gram flour with yogurt and apply it to the face. Leave it to dry and wash off with warm water. You can also apply some lime juice mixed with honey to the face and wash after it dries. Sandal wood and the Indian fuller earth can also be applied and makes for excellent cleansing pack. For loosening black heads, take equal amounts of baking soda and water and rub it on your face; wash off with lukewarm water.  This not only enables circulation but also clears pores.

To keep dry skin moisturized, apply milk cream on the face and wash off after 10 to 15 minutes. Similarly, you could also apply a mashed banana mixed with a table spoon of honey and apply it to the face; leave for 10 minutes and wash. Two tablespoons of oat mixed with enough water to make a thick paste is an inexpensive, yet effective, facial mask.

Oil your hair at least twice a week before washing. Massage your scalp with olive oil which is extremely beneficial to hair. You could also apply raw milk to your hair and wash after an hour. Avoid brushing the hair when it is wet as this is when the hair is weakest.

To keep your hands looking clean and beautiful, wash your hands, clip your nails, and shape the nails with a file. Do not leave half chipped nail polish on your nails and ensure that you give a week’s gap before applying nail color again. For your feet, massage with warm oil and place them in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes.

Try to avoid junk food and include plenty of vegetables, fruits, and nuts in your diet; this will keep you looking healthy and beautiful for years to come.
