Conditioning Hair Mask

A weekly conditioning hair mask is an essential aspect of any hair care regimen. If you have shoulder length hair (or longer), it would be better to use a hair mask twice a week. Hair masks help to replenish vitamins, minerals and oils that are lost on a daily basis. Over exposure to sunlight, extreme weather and harsh hair products can strip your hair and leave it dull and lifeless.

You can pamper yourself with a nutritious hair mask treatment that uses a natural and completely safe hair mask. You can make a hair mask using a combination of various hair mask ingredients including egg yolk, tomato juice, bananas etc.

Hair Mask Recipes

There are various homemade hair mask recipes available and though all of them will benefit you; it would be best if you choose a hair mask recipe that is best suited to your hair type. If you have dry and damaged hair, you can use a banana avocado hair mask. Make sure that you choose completely ripe fruits and blend them together along with a dollop of cream. Bananas are rich in vitamin B and C as well as minerals like potassium, phosphorus and zinc which are essential for healthy hair.  Avocados are high in healthy fats and so combining it with cream will add plenty of healthy oils to your hair mask. This hair mask will help to keep your hair glossy and manageable. If you have normal hair, you can use a mask made out of honey and coconut milk. Honey contains various amino acids and vitamins and will keep your hair healthy. Coconut milk contains small amounts of various fatty acids and so using it in your hair mask will ensure that your hair receives these oils without leaving your hair greasy.

Oily hair is probably the toughest to take care of as it attracts dust and gets limp very easily. When shampooing your hair, make sure that you do not rub your scalp vigorously as this will agitate the sebaceous gland in your scalp causing your hair to get oily and limp. Mix tomato pulp, orange juice and a few drops of fresh lemon juice and use this mask at least twice a week. All these ingredients are mildly acidic and so this hair mask will provide your hair with nutrients as well as help to control sebum levels without damaging your hair. For a protein-rich deep conditioning hair mask, you can mix an egg yolk with milk; but make sure that you do this on a weekend as this condition has a very unpleasant odor.
