Hi, my hair has split ends because of which it looks very ugly - What can I do to cure those split ends?

How to Stop Split Ends

The presence of split ends in your hair is an indication that you have not been taking proper care of your hair. Split ends tend to make your hair look very unhealthy and subsequently very unattractive. The only way to remove the split ends from your hair is to cut your hair. Go to a hair stylist as soon as possible to take care of this immediate problem. To make sure that the split ends do not return you need to start taking better care of your hair.

Firstly, without fail, you need to start oiling your hair on a regular basis. You can use any one of the following oils – almond oil, olive oil, lavender oil, coconut oil, or castor oil. You can use these oils on their own or combine two together for better results. Oiling will help to strengthen your hair by providing it with nutrition. This in turn will reduce the breakage of the hair. You can also provide nutrition to your hair by applying a mixture made up of one whole egg, juice of half a lime, and two tablespoons of olive oil. Apply this mixture primarily on the scalp and leave it on for at least two to three hours before you wash it off with your regular shampoo. Do this at least once every month. Another pack that is extremely good for the hair is a mixture that is made up of henna soaked overnight in tea and fenugreek water, eggs, lemon juice, and almond oil. Apply this pack on the scalp as well as the individual strands of the hair. Do not leave it on for more than an hour and a half. Henna is a natural dye, if the pack is left for too long, your hair will develop a reddish tinge. This too can be done once every month.

Apart from this, there are a few other things that you can take care of that will ensure that the split ends never reappear. Hair trimming, preferably every six weeks, is a must. Avoid chemical treatments such as coloring or perming. Use a wide-toothed, wooden comb to brush your hair. Do not over brush your hair, combing your hair twice a day, for a few minutes is enough. Make sure you condition your hair after every wash. After washing your hair, do not rub your hair vigorously to dry, just pat dry it. Avoid using hair dryers and hair irons. All this will ensure that your split ends do not return.
