Herbs for Hair Growth

Herbal hair growth remedies have traditionally been used around the world, across all cultures. You can use these remedies to boost hair growth if you have always had thin hair or have suffered from a hormonal problem or debilitating illness. You can also use them to treat baldness due to aging, stress, or scalp disorders.

There are a number of herbal home remedies that you can adopt for hair growth. One of the most commonly used herbs for hair growth is the Indian herb, henna. Once the henna has been dried and crushed, it is made into a paste along with some gooseberry extract or lemon juice. The henna paste is then applied to the hair and allowed to stay on till it dries completely, which could take up to a few hours. You should then wash the henna off with lukewarm or normal water. After your hair has dried, you will find it noticeably smoother and stronger. In addition to herbal hair regrowth remedies, you should also practice some basic hair care such as ensuring that your hair is always clean. Use a warm oil massage to stimulate hair growth. For the best results, mix one spoon of olive oil with half a spoon of castor oil and then massage it into your hair.

A very versatile herb, aloe vera is also used as an herbal hair regrowth solution. You can apply aloe vera gel to your hair and allow it to stand for about fifteen to twenty minutes. You should then wash your hair with a gentle shampoo. In addition, an effective herbal hair growth remedy is made by crushing the leaves of the olive plant and mixing them with vinegar. This will arrest falling hair and leave you hair soft and shiny.

The other herbs for hair growth that you can use include:
  • Birch
  • Horsetail
  • Nettles
  • Licorice

Similarly, an oil infusion of rosemary is also thought to be beneficial. In case you are suffering from an infection in the hair follicle, you can rinse your hair with water in which you have boiled leaves of the margosa tree for about ten minutes.
