Hair Care Shampoos

When buying a hair care shampoo, it is important that you buy one that is specifically suited to your hair type. If you have oily hair and you use a shampoo meant for dry hair, your hair will remain greasy and limp. Shampoos that are meant for different hair types have different ingredients and so a shampoo meant for oily hair will help to remove excess oil without leaving your hair lifeless while a shampoo meant for dry hair will help to preserve and replenish oils. In order to have healthy hair, shampoo your hair as often as necessary. A person with dry hair would have to shampoo their hair less frequently as compared to someone with oily hair. Many people are unsure as to how often they should shampoo their hair. There is no hard and fast rule as to how often you should wash your hair. If you have extremely oily hair you could need a shampoo everyday while a person who has dry hair would probably have to wash their hair just twice a week. If your scalp feels oily or your hair feels greasy, you can consider this to be a sign that it is time for a shampoo.

Healthy Hair Care Shampoo

Although there are various well known brands in the market today, some of the best hair care shampoos can be made at home. Although cosmetic shampoos are convenient, they also contain many chemicals, some of which are known carcinogens. You can make your own herbal shampoo by soaking acacia concinna beans and dried olives in a bowl of water overnight. In the morning you will notice that they have absorbed the water and swollen out. Heat it over a low flame for about 15 minutes, making sure that the water does not boil. Mash them up together thoroughly and use the paste to wash your hair.  Use this shampoo for healthy hair that is soft and lustrous. You can also use this as a base for any other shampoo that you wish to make.  If you have oily hair you can add a spoonful of fresh lemon juice to your shampoo base and if you have dry hair you can always add a couple of egg yolks as they are rich in proteins. However, this can leave a slightly unpleasant smell and so it would be advisable that you do it on a weekend when you will be at home. For an odor free protein shampoo, you can mix a tablespoon of unflavored gelatin powder to your shampoo.
