Modern society places a lot of importance on how you look. A scar on the face not only mars your appearance, but can also make you feel embarrassed and lose confidence in yourself. Acne scars can lead to a lot of emotional trauma and hinder a person’s personal and professional growth. Do not let acne scars take control of your life. These acne scar care tips will tell you how to get rid of acne scars in a safe and natural way.

What are Acne scars? Acne Scars are the marks left after the occurrence of acne. They are more visible on the face, although scarring does take place on other parts of the body that are susceptible to acne as well. There are medications and treatments available in the market to treat acne scars, although they can also be effectively treated with natural products at home.

How can I fix it? Water is the best natural method to treat acne scars. Water helps to shed the dead cells and renew the skin so that it grows and stays hydrated. You need to drink plenty of water, at least eight to ten glasses per day.

You can also sprinkle a little sugar or salt on a thin slice of lemon and scrub your face clean with it. Lemon is effective for the growth of new cells and makes your face supple. Aloe vera juice or gel can be used to fade the scars. Lavender oil has regenerative properties which will replenish your skin.

Apply the paste of sandalwood and rose water before going to bed and rinse it off in the morning to reduce acne scars. You can also try a paste of garlic, honey and carrot juice. Keep it on for twenty minutes and then rinse off to reduce your scars. Even fresh garlic juice is effective in acne scar care. Coconut oil, milk, and nutmeg are also essentially good for treating acne and the scarring caused by it.

Should I diet?  To be candid, diet alone will not help clear your acne problem. However, a healthy diet will boost your general well being. Try to incorporate whole grains such as whole wheat bread, wheat pastas, brown rice, and oatmeal into your diet. Add plenty of fresh vegetables, fruit, and lean protein. Try to limit intake of sodas, sugary snacks, and other junk foods. Fiber rich foods will help alleviate the problem.

What should I avoid? Beauty products such as pomades and de-frizzing agents are a big no-no. These tend to aggravate the outbreak of blackheads along the hair line. Do not forget to clean your make-up once you get home. You can clean your face by dabbing a cotton swab with a little coconut oil or milk, which are good cleansers. Avoid make up if your outbreak of acne is severe, wait until it gets better.
