Olive oil massage and intake of Vitamin E oil to tighten sagging skin

I am 53 years old, active and trim, but recently I got loose skin on thighs and arms. What can I do to get rid of this without surgery?

You do not require any kind of surgery for your condition as it is by no means harmful in any way. The skin could sag and appear loose due to the natural process of ageing, in which the production of collagen reduces and the elasticity of the skin diminishes. Our skin is affected by the gravitational forces throughout our lives. These effects only become visible later on in life, when the skin begins to sag. The skin also becomes thinner and there is loss of fat beneath the skin which results in hollow areas which cause the skin to hang loose. Loose skin can also develop if you have suddenly lost a large amount of weight. The skin is not able to immediately adjust to the new body size and hence starts to sag. Going on and off diets is likely to cause sagging skin and as the ageing process advances, the skin becomes less resistant to gravity. Excessive and continuous exposure to sunlight can also cause wrinkles and sagging skin. This is the effect of the harmful ultra violet radiation that is present in sunlight. Smoking can also cause the skin to sag and develop wrinkles.

To avoid further sagging of the skin, you must refrain from losing and gaining weight in brief periods of time. If you want to lose weight, then target on losing just two pounds a week. Anything more than that will stress out your skin and reduce its elasticity. Daily physical activity is also necessary in maintaining muscle tone, which will in turn retain the elasticity of the skin. Moisturizing the skin regularly will help greatly in maintaining its elasticity as dry skin tends to sag more. This will also keep the skin soft and supple. Apply an ample amount of moisturizer, especially at night. Drink substantial quantities of water to keep your skin hydrated and stay away from caffeine and carbonated drinks as they dehydrate the skin and make it more prone to sagging and wrinkles.

Oil massages are very good for tightening the skin and improving muscle tone. You can use olive oil for massaging the areas of loose skin. Add vitamin E to your diet, or you can also extract the vitamin E oil from a capsule and rub it on the affected areas. Hot water baths are very effective in eliminating toxins from the body and will also improve muscle tone. The skin may also be tightened by the regular application of aloe vera gel.
