For fair look use milk powder, glycerin and hydrogen peroxide

I am 32 male with whitish complexion. I had problem of gas and constipation. I have heavy pigmentation on face and skin is turning black. Please suggest remedies for whitening the skin.

Pigmentation occurs when there is too much deposit of melanin in the skin. Melanin is a pigment that determines the color of our skin, hair and eyes. The most common causes of skin pigmentation are external. Over exposure to the sun can cause the harmful UV rays of the sun to permeate the skin and damage the skin cells. Oral medications such as drugs for hypertension, diabetes, asthma and acne may also bring about an adverse effect on the skin and result in skin pigmentation. Internal disorders can also lead to pigmentation of the skin. At times when the internal system of the body is not functioning normally due to illness or disease, the pigment producing cells or melanocytes are not in control and the body starts producing an excess of melanin. Since you mentioned you have been having a problem of gas and constipation, it is advisable to consult a doctor in order to determine any internal factors that may also be causing the pigmentation.

Since over exposure to the sun plays an important part in causing skin pigmentation, make sure you protect yourself with an umbrella or a hat when going out into the sun. Also remember to wear sunscreen lotion of more than 20 SPF. It is always a good idea to begin a basic daily skin care routine in order to even out the discoloration on the face. Apply a mixture of half part lemon juice and half part water to the pigmented areas every night before going to bed. This will help to lighten the darkened areas considerably. Doing a self clean up on a weekly basis is also good for your skin. You can first massage your face with a cream suited to your skin type, then steam the face and use a scrub to exfoliate the dead skin and bring out the fresh skin. After this, you may apply a skin lightening face mask such as a citrus one. You can make such a mask at home by mixing the pulp of oranges, melons and papayas. This also serves to make the skin smoother and taut, as these substances contain collagen. Darkened areas can also be lightened by applying a paste of sandalwood powder, rose water and turmeric powder.

Another effective remedy for treating pigmented skin problem is to make a thick paste of 2 tsp milk powder and add hydrogen peroxide to it. Add a few drops of glycerin and apply to the darkened areas, rinsing with cold water after 20 minutes. You could also break open a vitamin E capsule and add a few drops of castor oil to it. Applying this to pigmented areas will lighten the skin considerably. It is also beneficial to add a few fresh radishes in your diet, as radishes have been known to help in reducing skin pigmentation.
