I have many prominent pores on my nose and my cheeks. What I have to do for closing these pores? What will be the cost for this treatment?

Genetic factors are responsible for the skin color and texture, but external factors can help to either improve or worsen the skin. One of the causes for large skin pores is heredity but they can also be a direct result of excessive production of sebum by the sebaceous glands, leading to extremely oily skin. Usually the skin pores on oily skin appear larger and tend to be open. This can further cause other problems such as blackheads, whiteheads and pimples due to accumulation of dirt in the open pores. It is thus important to try and reduce the size of the pores and close the pores. This is essential for smoother, attractive skin as well as to prevent acne and blemishes. The most important thing for closing and reducing the size of skin pores is proper cleansing and toning. It is essential to keep the skin squeaky clean by washing it using an antibacterial soap with a glycerin base. This helps to keep the oiliness of the skin in check and also cleans the skin properly. After cleansing the skin, you should always tone it using a good astringent lotion. This is important since it effectively gets rid of any residual dirt and also closes the open pores. Apart from the cleansers and toners available in the market, you can use a host of simple home remedies that help to reduce the size of the skin pores.

Tomato juice is an excellent natural skin toner. You can dip a cotton ball in freshly squeezed tomato juice and wipe your face with it. Wash off the juice after 20 minutes with cold water. Alternately you can rub half a tomato all over your face and wash your face after 15 to 20 minutes. A face pack prepared by mixing sandalwood powder with tomato juice is also beneficial for improving the skin by reducing the production of sebum and keeping the skin pores closed. Another fruit that is beneficial for reducing the size of the skin pores and improving the texture of the skin is papaya. You can take a mashed ripe papaya and apply it all over the face. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before you wash your face. A face pack prepared by beating the white of 1 egg with some honey is excellent for closing the skin pores and leaving the skin firm and soft. Regular application of honey and lemon juice on the face is also an effective way of toning the skin and improving its texture. Oatmeal, gram flour, lemon juice, rose water and some yogurt can be mixed together to make a face pack, which can be regularly applied on the face to tone the skin and improve the complexion. Apart from these home remedies, you should remember to always remove your make-up before you go to bed and to avoid unnecessary exposure of your skin to the harmful effects of the sun, wind and pollution.
