(19 Jan 2009)

Hair growth depends on a number of factors both external and internal. It also depends on the healthy function of your scalp and the texture of your hair. You haven't mentioned your age and weather you are a man or a woman. Anyway here are a few general things to keep in mind to ensure good hair growth. A healthy body and proper care is of utmost important for hair growth. Ensure that you eat a balanced meal on time everyday. Also make sure that your body has enough fluids, drink plenty of water and have fresh fruit juices. Besides this you could try the following. Aloe vera gel is known to treat alopecia (baldness) and stimulate hair growth. You can get the fresh gel directly from the plant. Wash them clean and cut vertically. Spoon out the gel and apply directly on the scalp. Massage it in and also cover the length of your hair. Leave on for about an hour and then wash off with plain water. In case you can't find the fresh leaves use pure aloe vera gel, which is easily available at health stores. This rapidly promotes hair growth without any side effects. Also try using a mix of sage and rosemary as a rinse as this is known to promote hair growth. Sage also helps in maintaining the sheen of dark hair.

Coconut oil has been used in hair care products for a very long time. It penetrates the hair shaft easily and repairs the damage caused to the scalp and hair. It has a high protein content that deeply nourishes and restores smoothness to the driest of hair. It also helps to protect hair from the harmful UV rays of the sun. Rosemary oil is great for dark hair. It effectively treats dandruff and the oil promotes healthy growth of hair. It is also used as a conditioner as it has antioxidant properties and gives a lovely shine to hair. You might like to try the hot oil treatment. Mix equal quantities of olive and rosemary oil and warm it. Massage this into your scalp and wrap your head with a towel soaked in hot water. Make sure that the excess water is squeezed out from the towel. Repeat the towel wrap 3-4 times. Wash your hair after one hour using a mild shampoo. This stimulates the roots and promotes hair growth. This also helps to deeply nourish and condition your hair.
